How does the festival work?
Meet Pi Maths Festival is designed to inspire young people to explore the richness and wonder of mathematics through encouraging collaborative and creative problem solving. Unlike most math based events, this is an inclusive and non-competitive event.
Participants
Suitable for young people currently from Year 3 to Year 9.
During the festival, participants can move between the activities at their leisure and join any Activity Table that interests them.
Participants are encouraged to spend 20-30 minutes or more at the activity and work collaboratively with others to make the most out of the experience.
Activity Tables
The festival features Activity Tables, each with a different problem-solving activity, either a puzzle, game or craft based challenge.
Each Activity Table has an Activity Leader(s) to guide Participants.
The Activity Tables are for Participants only to ensure there is space and opportunity for young people to explore, discover and work with their peers.
Parent Workshops
Parents can attend workshops on how to support their children with mathematics and mental health at home .
